Our Programs

Future Kidz

This program is for our youngest students, usually ages 4-6.  Future Kidz works on preparing students for the family classes.  The class focuses on the skills needed for the martial arts and other athletics; skills like balance, team work, discipline, and respect.  These skills are taught through games, drills, and obstacle courses.  The Future Kidz program runs on a system where they earn stripes, such as: balance, focus, teamwork, etc.  Once they get all of their stripes, they’re eligible for their next belt.  This class meets twice a week for a half an hour – TuesdayThursday 5:00 to 5:30.

Family Classes

Our family classes are for those aged 7 and up.  These classes are divided by belt rank – white to high yellow belts and green to black.  Depending on the day of the week, a class will focus on kicks and punches, forms, self-defense, or sparring – the schedule is posted both at the school and on the website.  These classes go further into technique, while still maintaining an excellent workout.  This class runs on a stripe system, one for forms, one for self-defense, and one for kicks and punches.  Classes for lower belts run for 45 minutes and classes for advanced belts run both 50 minutes and 60 minutes depending on the day.  On sparring days students are required to bring all of their sparring gear.  Please check our full schedule to see what time classes are available!

Gracie Jiu Jitsu

LCMA is proud to be a part of the Carlson Gracie, Jr. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team and a Seamless Progression affiliate under the direction of Professor Benjamin Salas. Students in our intermediate and advanced programs have access to all BJJ classes. We also have a stand alone BJJ program for Teens and Adults. While we study some grappling techniques in our family classes, this class goes much more in depth. A typical class goes through a grappling based warm up, various drills on more advanced technique, as well as application of technique. Students are not required to compete to progress in jiu jitsu, however, tournament competition is encouraged and fully supported with bracketed practices and on-site coaching. Mouth guard and grappling gi are required for this class.

Current schedule for those classes is Kids BJJ 11:00 to 12:00, Teen/Adult BJJ 7:30 to 8:45 Tuesday and Thursdays with Open Rolling and Seminars on Saturdays from 12:30 to 1:00

Kali/Escrima Classes

LCMA has an active kali program offering Kali4Kids for our younger students and Kali and Escrima progression classes for our teens and adults. Our instructors are certified in the Kali4Kids program under Tuhon Apolo Ladra, and actively train several styles of Filipino Martial arts including Inosanto/Illustrisimo under Guru Benjamin Salas, and Kampalon Escrima under Guru Edie Mesina. Additionally we have a background in Doce Pares Escrima, and train regularly in Pekiti Tirsia Kali under Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje, Tuhon Apolo Ladra, and Mandala Magino’o Jesse Cabuyadao. A typical class involves attention to footwork which is the key to the art, striking angles, sinawali, sumbrada, and other dymaic drills. For those that are interested in tournament competition we compete at the regional, national, and world level in both padded and live stick sparring.
